So I take one of my 5 year old grandsons to visit his cousin who is also 5. The two them get in front of the gas fireplace (which is off) and start saying "Oh Spirit, Oh Spirit, Turn on the Fire"
over and over and soon my son winks at me and flips the switch to turn it on. The boys loved it....dance around and soon go back and say "Oh spirit, O spirit turn off the fire"
they do this for a while and then one 5 year old turns to the other and asks "Is it a spirit or electricity?" To which the adults in the room start howling and I turn to my daughter in law (Baylor grad and very VERY Religious. and ask "Well you are going to have to sort out to your son which wood spirit is real and which ones are not"
