Gotta admit it. I might shed a tear for this raider on Monday. What a red raider! Odiase has fought through injuries that cause others to quit, reshaped his body and lost over 40 lbs, and left it on the floor for what seems like a decade at Tech. Probably the least gifted athlete on the team and sometimes I don't think he can jump 6 inches. He's always doing the dirty work inside against much bigger centers. If you aren't all in or making stupid mistakes, he's on you. And I got the feeling they listen. Without him, Owens isn't freed up to get all those blocked shots. He takes a charge when needed. He's the one always setting picks, not getting the points and glory. He won't be the guy everyone is trying to interview. Fights thru personal hardships that many couldn't handle. Off the court, you cannot find a better role model. Wife and I were lucky to visit with him a couple of times. He doesn't know us from Adam but couldn't have been nicer or more approaching.... Yes sir, yes ma'am. You don't see him trash talking opponents or complaining to refs. You won't see him exalting himself for attention. It's impossible to run out of positives to say about the man. When he steps off the floor for his last home game I hope the game dictates the opportunity for Beard to give him the standing ovation he rightly deserves. He'll be missed.
