*As you can see above, great night from Ward. I thought I would be impressed with him, but he was fantastic. He has the moves to really skip around in traffic smoothly, but he also has the speed to outrace folks and is surprisingly physical. There were numerous times he would get hit, throw a guy off, and keep on chugging, including on his 63 yard TD run early on.
*Ward had another 50 plus yarder down the left sideline get called back on a hold at the end of the game, too. Easily could've had 220 yards rushing tonight.
*Ward on his game tonight:
"I'm feeling great. We got the win, and that's all that matters," he said. "We got a great win, and now we got to keep it moving. We're back at home, and we play against Martin. We're gonna come tomorrow, watch film, practice, and start fresh again next week."
*What's even more impressive is that Ward accounted for 193 of Skyline's 300 total yards by himself. He was the reason they won that game tonight.
*On that note, neither team has much of a passing game at all, but that's also partially because there were a lot of good DB's and D-lines running around in this game. Jeffrey Okudah and Caesar Williams really locked things down for South Grand Prairie's pass coverage, and Skyline's D-line mauled QB Greg Eisworth most of the night.
*As I just said, Eisworth isn't a great passing QB by any means, but he also had next to no time to throw all night thanks to Skyline's fantastic defensive line led by Joe Wallace, who was disruptive on the interior most of the night.
*The prospect that really, really intrigues me from this game is DE Kimball Bradford. He's listed at 6-2, 285, and he can move. He came off the edge all night long and really stuck out to me. Again, SGP's O-line folded all night, so I'm not sure how to gauge that, but I came away really noticing him as well.
*Also worth noting that Clarence Henderson did not play tonight, has an arm injury of some kind, as he was in an arm brace tonight, and I wasn't able to track him down after the game.
*Overall, really impressed with both Wallace and Ward. Both guys get check marks from me for sure after seeing them in person. I really, really think Tech stole Ward offering him so early on in the process and getting ahold of him. He's going to be a really good tailback at the next level.
