I will be updating this thread throughout the program.

  • "I think our whole program is ready for a new beginning and ready to get this thing going."

  • Kingsbury said the program needed to take a "hard look" at how it did things following last season's 4-8 campaign.

  • Kingsbury said Davis Webb got "better and better" in preseason camp. "Couldn't be more pleased with how far he's come from last year.

  • "He does a great job of attacking the defenses and finding their weaknesses."

  • Kingsbury said he's really appreciated how Webb "has handled everything."

  • "As a young leader, being thrust in that position -- I think he was voted a team captain last year as a true sophomore. That's a big deal."

  • Kingsbury said that Pat Mahomes has been great. "Once again, someone who really re-dedicated himself to changing his body, studying more football. [...] He's developed a lot over the offseason. Had a great camp as well. He'll be a much better player than he was last year."

  • Kingsbury said Mahomes is "a baller" and "fun to watch."

  • "I think when you name one, a lot comes down on each of them. There wasn't a need for that. [...] If there was an advantage to (naming a starter), I would have done it."

  • Kingsbury acknowledged that his philosophy is to "go with one (quarterback) and ride with him."

  • Kingsbury said that David Gibbs "holds everybody accountable, coaches and players."

  • Kingsbury on Zac Spavital: "Part of that turnaround there. Great defensive coach, spent a lot of time at OU -- was a graduate assistant there under Mike Stoops and Brent Venables. He's been around some great defenses."

  • "There's not much to say after a season like that, so you just want to grind away. [...] We feel like we've improved as a program."

  • Kingsbury said that traditionally it takes JUCO players a year to get acclimated to what it takes to play Power Five football.

  • Kingsbury offered heavy praise for his stable of running backs.

  • "We really just went with age in some of those (depth chart) situations. We're not big on who plays, so we just listed it by seniority, really."

  • Kingsbury said Justin Stockton's become a more complete running back -- added good weight, improved as a pass catcher, etc.

  • "Le'Raven's evolution as a leader has been one of the biggest I've ever seen. You couldn't get him to talk when we first got here."

  • "I think you'll see Saturday that they've improved a lot (on the offensive line)."
