The entries for the Horned Frog Invitational are now on-line and there are some really interesting entries for Tech. Of course, there are some kids who are NOT competing this weekend ? most of the athletes who competed at the national indoor meet are not competing, but some of the 4X400 men ARE entered. Also, it appears that most of the distance runners are not entered, but that is not unusual. Here is a look at the Tech entries with some of my thoughts:

WOMEN
1500 ? Christina Graham - glad to see her entered, she has only run indoors in her 1.5 years at Tech.

800 ? Kearci Jobe, Trudy Clarke, Shannon Jackson, Devin Bailey - Trudy must be getting a little workout, running the 800

100H - Jamie Simanek, Sandra Iwunze, Tori Smith, Roxie Greve - I am really anxious to see Tori run outdoors this year

400 - Terra Evans - the sprinter must be running this 400 to get back in shape after a slight injury at conference

100/200 - Jonisha Boleware - primarily a quartermiler, Jonisha must be getting in some speed work this weekend

400H - Sandra Iwunze, Kelsey Lloyd, Caroline Mueller - Sandra should OWN this event this year. I am also eager to see Kelsey run this - I would like to see her contribute this year in the HJ and a running event as well.

4X400 relays ? A: Jonisha Boleware, Trudy Clarke, Kelsey Lloyd, Sandra Iwunze
B: Tori Smith, Jamie Simanek, Terra Evans, Shannon Jackson

HJ - Kelsey Lloyd

PV - Amanda Alley, Sage Lasater, Jessie Gibbs, Kylee Singleton - strong event for Tech only gets stronger next year with addition of Shade Weygandt

LJ - Veronica DiLullo, Janell Appelhans

TJ ? DiLullo

SP/DT - D’Andra Carter - will be interesting to see how DeDe does without being pushed by her teammates, Patience Knight and Ozie Okolioe. TCU does have two really good woman throwers.

MEN

1500 - Nathan Milles, Logan Culotta - glad to see them eager to compete

800 - Matt Davidson, Brandon Washington, Paul Julmeus - really excited to see B-Wash running the half mile

110H - Brandon Tucker, Jamele Mason - the two freshmen have worlds of potential - I think they will both run well outdoors

400 - Lamont Adams, Rodney Mims, Julius Walker, Timothy Foster, Jamaal Butler - it will be fun to see Julius run the 400, since he did not even run the 200 in 2008. I imagine the coaches want to see him get a workout without aggravating the injury that kept him out of the indoor conference meet.

100 - Bill Lawhorn, Markus Henderson - Tech needs to see some production from both of these kids who have enormous potential

400H - Jamele Mason, Brandon Tucker, Zach Plinario - good to see Zach running after a variety of ailments caused him to redshirt outdoors in 2008 and the indoor season just completed

200 - Bill Lawhorn - run, Bill, run - want to see flash of greatness

3K - Jeremy Kight, Logan Culotta

4X400 A: Rodney Mims, Tim Foster, Markus Henderson, Lamont Adams
B: Jamele Mason, Julius Walker, Brandon Tucker, Bill Lawhorn

HJ - Darrell Roddick, Justin Turner

PV - Kelly Wilson, Brian Porter - it is great to see Brian back in action

LJ - Anthony Flemons, Darrell Roddick, Travon Hill-Chadwick ? no rest for Anthony, who had a very disappointing national meet

TJ - Flemons, Roddick, Bernard Hammonds

SP - Harrison Benjamin, Tyler Menges

DT - Brett McDaniel, Menges

JT - Paden Behrens is NOT entered, but former Red Raider Mike Cast is

I will be at the meet in Fort Worth this Saturday, so I will try to give everyone a first-hand view of the meet.
