Chevrolet and its parent company GM seems to be investing a lot of its resources towards developing its EV platform. The Camaro SUV may not offer a gas-powered variant at all, but we do expect it to have a lot of power. GMC’s Hummer EV despite its huge mass does have 1000 horsepower and can do 60 MPH in three seconds. This shows what the Ultium platform is capable of which gets us a bit excited.
But the Camaro SUV may come with the same powertrain as the Chevy Blazer EV. That powertrain already boasts impressive numbers which is a good start for an SUV using the Camaro name. But it may start with a single-motor rear-wheel drive version with less horsepower as an entry-level vehicle. Higher trims like an SS model would come with dual motors and all-wheel drive.
Power isn’t the only thing the Camaro was known for but also for its superb handling. While this may not be a sports car, it does need to handle well. This SUV will most likely have the Mustang Mach E as its direct rival which would continue the Mustang/Camaro rivalry.
