Hannah Carson was named the Big 12 Outdoor T&F Female Performer of the Year. She is the 1st Tech female to win the award.
Felipe Soares defeated #52 Tin Ostojic of Wichita St. today to advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA men's singles championships. He had defeated the #11 ranked player yesterday to advance to today's round of 32. He plays tomorrow to see if he can advance to the Super 8. The win today made him an All-American and only the 3rd Tech player to be named All-American.
Earlier in the day Soares teamed up with Hugo Dojos to start play in the NCAA Doubles play and then upset the #5 ranked doubles team from Vanderbilt to advance to the next round to play the winner of Duke/South Carolina doubles match. They won the match over Vanderbilt 6-2, 6-2.
