MEP has a different business model - we only perform the Phase I ESA and by applying a “common sense” approach, we remove the conflict of interest to find issues that may be just “housekeeping” issues, meaning we don’t provide Phase II/III service- we have third party contacts to refer. He has represented smaller companies and negotiated farmouts, JOA’s, pooling agreements etc.

Background
Ray began his oil and gas experience by working as a lease operator in New Mexico for Amerada Hess in 1976. After one year, he left Amerada Hess for the Gulf Coast to gain experience as a petroleum landman. For 2 ½ years he worked in the East Texas/ Gulf Coast area as a field landman/broker for such companies as Texaco and Chevron.Since 1980, upon returning to West Texas, Ray has performed ownership and leasehold title checks and has acquired thousands of oil and gas leases for such companies as Exxon, Mobil, Getty, HNG/Enron, PG&E/Enserch, UPRC, Altura, Range Resources, Anadarko, Linn Energy and a whole host of smaller independents. Certifications
Ray is a Certified Professional Landman as a member in good standing of the AAPL (#3231) and an EPA qualified site assessor to perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments of telecom, commercial and oil and gas properties. He has worked many years in association with his father, a retired District Judge (from Ector County) and practicing attorney.Contact Ray
