So as if this whole mask situation hasn't been silly enough over the last 14 months, finally the CDC has come out and said if you're vaccinated you don't need to wear masks inside or outside even though there is no new data that changes anything.. For the people who have been truly worried about the pandemic (many for good reason) this should be a great thing as it should be for our entire country which has been through a hellacious past 14 months.
I guess I should have seen this CNN crap coming but for some reason I really figured this announcement would move us one step closer to being past all this stuff. During the day today I saw CNN with their "medical expert" and they were beside themselves upset that the mask mandate has been lifted, and even more upset that we apparently aren't going to be required to carry those vaccine passport things. They were making some ridiculously silly arguments too such as "what if someone who isn't vaccinated goes out without a mask???" (oh the humanity!) . Not once did anyone think to mention that if you've gotten the vaccine you aren't at risk of getting sick so it doesn't matter if you're around one of these lying heathen non-masked/non-vaccinated people. They also whined and moaned about how going to the grocery store is no longer safe for ANYONE, and the doctor suggested going first thing in the morning since the crowds with all the heathens likely won't be out until later in the day.
I also saw a clip of the two MSNBC morning lovebirds (Mona (?) and her her husband/co-worker/former office f-buddy) who were very defiant, and indicated that even though they were both vaccinated they would ALWAYS be wearing their masks in large crowds and when they travel on airplanes because you have no way of knowing if the person next to you is a legitmate vaccinate-ee or one of those heathen conservatives who's only goal is to spread disease among the victimized public (nevermind, once again, that if you're vaccinated you don't need to worry about getting sick with Covid according to virtually all the scientific studies that have been done).
It's like they were angry that the CDC had the gall to do such a reckless thing and they were going to continue clutching to their masks until the very last second before they are phyiscally forced to part with them. It sounds like I'm exaggerating but I'm really not. They were all unhappy about it and professing their commitment to continuing to wear them for the foreseeable future. And not one of them even talked about the virus itself, or why they feel like they need to wear them (other than the lying heathens that won't wear them). No one talked about how they are worried about getting sick, or about potential variants of the virus, or anything else. And Don Lemon was on the morning show with some guy and that heavy set blond lady who is always mad (I think her first name is Brianna or something like that) talking about the "implications" of this "serious development" in between the parts where he was comparing the "insurrection" to being on the battlefield in Desert Storm.
It was some really surreal TV and felt like something you'd see in a horror movie where the news anchors (I'm using the term "news" anchors loosely) are possessed by some alien or demonic force.
