@A. Dickens and other sports talk voices have been asking “what the heck changed in the last week?” Well Bob Bowlsby had an answer to that question: Myocarditis.
Bowlsby is quoted as saying that concern is “new” in the “last two or three weeks.”
Basically it’s a condition that can also happen with the common cold and flu, so it’s not new. Most people that develop it will be fine. In some people, heart inflammation turns to scar tissue, and eventually potentially an irregular heartbeat and could cause sudden cardiac arrest. This would be what has everyone scared all of a sudden I think.
