-Gave UH wayyy too many opportunities in the first half. Turnovers and quick trigger/bad shot selection in the first 12-15 minutes killed us. Fought back, but too little too late.

-UH can shoot the damn ball. Sassed, Grimes, and Mark hit some tough shots. They’ll be a good team over the course of the season.

-Free throws, free throws, free throws. 11 misses, under 56%.

-Santos Silva didn’t provide what you needed today. We needed a bulldog underneath getting boards and putting the ball in the hoop when dished down. He got out-physicaled by 55.

-We got the full McClung experience today. Some impressive shots, but saw his tendency to be ball dominant and take a ton of shots, some of which were ill advised. 3-11 shooting isn’t going to win you many games from your leading scorer.

-Peavy is a badass. His ability to score at the rim, drive the ball, and shoot the midrange are great offensively. He fought for rebounds and wasn’t afraid to get dirty. He’s a perfect Beard player. Better enjoy him while we can.

-Dickeys arena was awesome. Had some awesome seats down near the court. @mister_root was just down from us. Not a bad seat in the house.

-I’m not usually one to complain about what others do at the game, but man, there are some absolute jackass Tech fans in the world. Next to us in section 124, about 12-15 shit house hammered frat boys screamed obscenities the entire game at the refs, the players, and the coaches. All Tech guys, all a bunch of douchebags. No masks, just screaming, spitting, and making asses of themselves. Yelling “I fvcked your mom last night”, “fvcking worthless trash bums”, “you’re a fvcking piece of shit” among the things yelled at UH players. Two different families in front of them left the game early in the second half it was so bad. Even got to the point they were yelling at our players late in the game. It was flat out embarrassing to be wearing the same team’s logo as those losers.

Overall, wish we’d gotten the W, but lots of good to look forward to with this team. They’re not the world beaters we thought they might be, but keep working, get McCullar back, and we’ll win a bunch of games. I’m encouraged.
