Yesterday was painful . I saw a team that in no way was ready to play on either side of the ball.
I have been on record as being supportive of Bowman. I was wrong. He seems to be playing so afraid of making a mistake that he has just about killed the offense. I can only guess he is a different animal in practice. Not exactly what we need in a QB.
I understand that yesterday Colombi was playing against a softer prevent D but that wasn't the case last week. Now we have a 2 game sample of absolutely terrible offense under Bowman and modestly better under Colombi.
That said I also do not understand how we can be so inept in the running game. The middle of our OL should be as good as any. They have been pass blocking well but run blocking is mostly abhorrent and well below big 12 standard.
The defense yesterday had their lunch money taken and could do nothing about it. It seemed better in the second half but that might have been ISU losing interest. That 21 to 7 half time score was the most misleading score I remember.
Ironically...if we had yesterday's special teams the previous 2 weeks we would be 3 and 1.
I have said Wells should get 2 years to be judged and I am sticking to that. However.....I have moved from being confident he will be a good coach for us to doubting he is the guy. Yesterday just took the air out.
Yost and Bowman was flat out terrible yesterday. Yeah...the cloud D blah blah blah....0 for 10 on 3rd down. They could not do that to a decent D2 team. It is inexcusable. Every game this year that D has given up 30+ points.
I am not calling for anyone's head...yet, but the clock is ticking.
