This board at times is a beating. Losing does that along with COVID right now. We end up snapping at each other and calling names.
With that said this board is an amazing place. It brings people together that only know a user name and makes them family.
As I sit here in the room with my kid all hooked up to monitors and an IV I am reminded of all the times this board has gotten me through things. The support and prayers I have gotten has helped so many times.
I thought maybe a thread where we say what people have gotten us to remind us we really are good people even when we disagree about a coach or the AD.
I will start right now I have felt extremely grateful as I sat in the parking lot at the hospital while my son was in surgery. We did not want all our friends to know what was going on because my wife did not want 30 people texting her constantly. I posted here and had immediate conversations that made me feel surrounded.
When I got laid off from COVID people reached out privately on here to check on me. And in a surprise twist I got a job yesterday while he was in surgery.
When our dog had to be put to sleep at age 17. The outpouring of stories from others made it easier.
The time I felt the absolute most support was on March 17, 2018 when my best friend passed away. The love from virtual strangers made the most difficult time in my life slightly more bearable. He was my best friend and more of a brother than anything for over 30 years. Met him on the first day of 7th grade football practice and never looked backed.
