Well, we will find out in a few days the potential impact that the MLB draft will have on our current team roster and on our recruiting class.

We will lose to graduation seniors: Cory Raley, Tyler Neslony, Eric Gutierrez, Tyler Floyd, Dalton Brown and Zach Davis but that is the only given.

The MLB website listed the Top 200 prospects of which Texas Tech had the following three on the list:
  1. #105 Ulysses Cantu (High school signee) -- he has been talked about as being a guy who will get drafted in the first few rounds and will most likely sign.
  2. #134 Ryan Moseley - interesting that he was being projected as a possible first rounder until he ran into problems this year. He is still very highly rated and my thinking is he will get drafted high and sign.
  3. #166 Dustin May - Pitcher (High school signee) -- again, he has also been talked about as being a guy who will go in the first few rounds. Apparently this spring he was considered possibly the top high school pitcher in Texas but he has fallen back some with his performance and velocity this year.
It's a pretty sure bet Moseley will be gone and Cantu and May never step on the Tech campus but beyond that it's a wait and see thing. It sounds like from recent chatter that Stephen Smith will get drafted and probably sign as well. I'm not so sure we should feel too confident about Hayden Howard and Robert Dugger.

I've included a link to the list of the Tech November signees. It is likely that 5 or 6 of these guys get drafted and 3 to 5 end up signing. Usually players drafted in rounds 1 through 10 have a much higher likelihood of signing than those after that.
