Am hearing her snafu earlier this week means the end of her show and likely her time at NBC.

I listened to the offending segment and though she should have probably chosen her words a bit more carefully, I felt like she was trying to create a conversation about what is actually racist and what isn't. She took the position that a reality star who put on blackface to be Diana Ross for Halloween wasn't racist because she was doing it respectfully and meant no harm and no racism. Personally I think that's a discussion we should be allowed to have, but you shouldn't do it with an all-white panel as Megyn did.

I understand why some were offended, but to me the whole issue is a symbol of just how intolerant of any types of discussion we are in this country. Had she done the segment with malice I'd feel differently, but it's a whole lot of good intentions being taken to the cleaners. I think it's too bad that we will crucify those who clearly had no bad intentions instead of giving them the benefit of the doubt. This country is a scary place to be now that you're guilty until proven innocent and anything you say, no matter how innocently you mean it, can cost you your job.

If Megyn were black and had said the exact same thing would she have been fired? Or would she have been lauded as being willing to discuss tough issues? What would the result be if Oprah had hosted that segment and said the exact same thing?
