During my freshman season at Duke, we showed up one Monday to begin game prep, and the first thing our DB coach said was “these guys have the best wide receiver I’ve EVER seen, and he’s a true freshman.”
I got to go up against some incredible receivers while in college, but I would be hard pressed to compare anyone I faced to that guy (thankfully I didn’t have to face him much). He was like Dez and Crabtree combined but faster and with the size of Jermaine Gresham.
It’s too bad he went to GaTech and then got mostly wasted in Detroit. Even still, he’s an NFL hall of famer which is well deserved. It just feels kind of strange that a guy my age is in the Hall. Feels just like yesterday...
