Ladies First ~

5'5" Freshman Guard Chrislyn Carr set program records for attempted 3pt (24 year old record, Noel Johnson) and made 3pt (14 year old record, Alesha Robertson) in a single game when she made 9-21 (.429%) and scored 35 points to lead the Lady Raiders (7-2) to an 86-67 win AT Nevada.

For her efforts, Chrislyn was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week and is the first Lady Raider ever (6th Big 12 player) to be named U.S. Basketball Writers Association National Freshman of the Week.

The Lady Raiders play Texas Southern (12/22) and Abilene Christian (12/29) both in Lubbock before opening Big 12 play at Oklahoma (1/2).

Chrislyn Carr is averaging 19.2 ppg while Brittany Brewer is averaging 18.6 ppg and 11.3 rpg. Zuri Sanders is chipping in 9.0 ppg and 12.8 rpg.

We will finish near the bottom of the Big 12 but Coach Stollings has already produced a dramatic turnaround in team play.

Advantage Jarrett Culver

This is the matchup that makes for good television. I can't wait to see it.

Mooney and Francis have to close out on Reddish and Tariq/Odiase/Corprew just need to be physical with Zion. If Moro or Culver can draw a charge it will change his game.

Exciting night for our Red Raiders!
