Article:
A civil jury could hear arguments in a lawsuit regarding the disabling injury to 11-year-old Luke Siegel.
He suffered head injuries when the golf cart he was riding in flipped in an empty field off 106th Street west of Salem.
Now, parents Tim and Jennifer Siegel are suing several parties, including the golf cart manufacturer, Yamaha, the golf cart owner and the Lake Ridge Estates Homeowner's Association that allows the carts in the neighborhood.
The Siegels claim Yamaha should have designed a more stable golf cart that is less prone to roll over.
The suit claims these defects led to the crash and Luke's permanent and disabling injuries.
The plaintiffs suggest the HOA should be held liable for allowing operation of golf carts.
All hearings are set to take place in Dallas.
