Absolutely crushed. Sudden and out of nowhere. We were supposed to head down to visit him week after next. He didn’t go to Tech, didn’t even finish HS, but he was a Red Raider through and through. He’d been a member of this site at least since ‘05, maybe longer. Darrell Lee (@MarvinGodbolt) was born in Kermit, grew up in Slaton and loved Tech. Wasn’t perfect but worked his ass off to provide for his family, taught me a lot and most importantly he was a GREAT pop-pop. He liked me a lot but he LOVED his grandkids more than anything on this planet. It kills me that they won’t get more time with him. When I was going to school at Tech he had just got divorced from my step-mom and he would drive all the way to Lubbock from Houston damn near every weekend to hit up the strip and go to the game. He was so proud and excited for me to be a Red Raider. Both of my kids are likely headed to Tech and he could barely contain his joy and pride over that. We loved him very much and he’ll be missed every day.

RIP Pop.
