I will be posting live updates from 'Red Raider Football with Kliff Kingsbury' in this thread. Kevin Curtis is scheduled to join the program in the final 30 minutes.
  • Kingsbury on Senior Day: "It's always a special day. This season has flown by, not having a bye. We're about two games ahead of everybody else."

  • Kingsbury said that the team will practice next Saturday, but the players will have a "little break" from football during the week.

  • Kingsbury on DeAndre Washington topping 1,000 yards for the second consecutive seasons: "Just says so much about DeAndre, the offensive line, the job they've done together over the last few years. [...] That's an impressive stat."

  • Kingsbury said that Washington has always "shown up" and "worked hard" consistently over the last three seasons.

  • Kingsbury on Washington's NFL prospects: "I believe he'll test well at the combine. He's one of our faster players."

  • Kingsbury said he expects Kansas State and Texas to force Texas Tech to beat them with the team's outside receivers.

  • "We'll find ways to get (Jakeem Grant) the ball. I expect him to have a much bigger impact."

  • Kingsbury on tomorrow's Sports Performance Center press conference: "I'm excited for our alumni and our fans to see those renderings and what that's going to be. That's going to be one of the premier facilities in the country. [...] I think people are going to be blown away with how nice it is."

  • "It'll be more just an indoor. The doors will open up. You'll be able to see all the way through -- it will look like a massive space once you go in there."

  • Kingsbury said that the team has had about 10 practices this season that were impacted -- delayed, postponed, canceled -- because of weather.
FIRST BREAK
  • Kingsbury said he's excited about Wes Welker signing with the St. Louis Rams.

  • "I think Coach Chiaverini has done a great job with our guys (on special teams) for the most part." Kingsbury singled out the coverage units as being very good this season with the exception of one play.

  • Kingsbury said they are hoping Taylor Symmank will be able to play against Kansas State but they won't know until Saturday.

  • Kingsbury on the playoff: "I think it's great for the game. [...] I think it's been awesome. You get conversations started in early November, it's all people want to talk about. I think it's good for college football."

  • "We know what's coming (from Kansas State's offense). It's going to be a man's game on that side of the ball." Kingsbury expects a "heavy dose" of quarterback run game on Saturday.

  • Kingsbury on the potential of Welker joining the Texas Tech staff at some point down the line: "If that's the direction he wants to go [...] he'd definitely be somebody that's great working with young people."

  • Kingsbury: "I wouldn't be surprised to see more man coverage (on Saturday)."

  • "The seniors, we just make this week all about them."

  • Kingsbury expects Kansas State to bracket Grant on Saturday much like West Virginia did last week.
SECOND BREAK
  • Kingsbury said that Kevin Curtis has done a "tremendous job" recruiting for the Red Raiders.

  • Kingsbury on Kansas State: "They've been very competitive in almost all of the games they've played. That's a mark of a Bill Snyder coached team. They're always going to be the most prepared team in the country."

  • "They line up and the execute over and over. They make you make the mistake and they've done that for a long time. I can't say enough good things about coach Snyder and their program."
THIRD BREAK
  • Kevin Curtis on senior day: "Those guys will enjoy the moment and they'll go out there and fight for us, they'll fight for each other, this community and Texas Tech."

  • Curtis on the secondary: "They're getting better. Practice, we're working the same movements over and over and over again. As they get more comfortable with it, it will go from the practice field to the game field. We're working hard, correcting every mistake."

  • "You want to get longer, more physical guys (at cornerback). You've just got to go look for them and find them."
FINAL BREAK
  • Curtis on Kansas State: "They're going to run. The quarterback ran the ball a lot last game. Quarterback run game is big for them. You have to be very sound, very disciplined."

  • Curtis said the defensive backs will have to have great eye control on Saturday.

  • "For us, we want to let the seniors go out with a victory at Jones Stadium."
