Saw this on the MB regarding Patterson. It was from the MB, so probably BS.
"According to sources, the recommendation of UT's search firm - Korn/Ferry International - was then-West Virginia AD Oliver Luck. Patterson was an outside candidate recommended to former Texas president Bill Powers by Jeff Hunt, a Texas graduate working as the paid media consultant to the Pac-12, Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott and the Pac-12 Network."
Is it possible that the Jeff Hunt with the help of others pushed Patterson onto UT knowing it would be a disaster (maybe intentionally?) in order to weaken UT's & the LHN's negotiating position in future realignment discussions? I'm probably reading to much into this on purpose but one could only hope.
