Kliff Kingsbury Teleconference

  • Baylor has done an incredible job of adapting their scheme to what personnel that they have

  • “Great running backs, great wide receivers, they’re “offensive line” is as good as you’ll see, quarterback is really good. They just continue to get better and continue to evolve and tweak little things each year that adapts to their personnel.”

  • Baylor is a lot different than what Texas Tech does because they are based off the running game, has “evolved into a completely different offense than anyone else runs in the country.”

  • “Have some young guys that are out there that need to grow up” Kliff on defense

  • “We feel like we can make a good run in the conference but we have to improve in areas and the biggest disappointment was the turnovers and penalties this past week. Didn’t really give us a chance to really stay in the game.”

  • Both TCU and Baylor are very talented, get stops when they need to defensively, “both at the top of the country for sure”

  • “Really focus on what we did the first few weeks to be competitive. Like I said last week was very disappointing because of the turnovers and the penalties. We have to get back to doing the little things right and we probably let that slide last week.”

  • “In this conference every game is going to be tough. Iowa State we’ve had great games with them, the two years I’ve been here they’re very well coached, they’re a competitive team in this league and so we know we’re going to have to play very well to try and handle that game.”

  • “Anytime we get to play at home I feel like that helps us just based on the incredible fan base and our player’s comfort level of being in Jones AT&T Stadium. Regardless of where the game was we have a lot to work on and a lot to get better at this week in practice.”

  • “We have to focus on the little things that helped us have success early. You lose to the No. 3 and No.5 team and either of those teams could be ranked No. 1 in the country, that’s just part of it. That’s not to say we’re not a good team, we just played two very good teams that beat us. So we have to get back to the little things, try to improve and take it from here.”
