Kirby is going to have a statue built of him on campus if this Wells hire works or be run out of town by an angry mob. No in between.
Frankly, it’s got me a little fascinated by the hire. He could easily go hire a Leach disciple to come and run things and not piss anyone off and keep his job for as long as he wants.
It may go horribly wrong, but I admire his desire to swing for the fence even if it pisses everyone off AND he ends up being wrong and losing his job.
In many ways, this is the type of risk that Tech needs to take to change our destiny as an also-ran. I assume Stoops has endorsed him, maybe even Beard and Tadlock. Maybe even Snyder? Hope he’s right.
