Had Stidham not jumped ship (we didn't pay or promise position) and with the addition of Jett Duffey (2015 Mr. Texas Player of the Year), Neal Brown and Kliff Kingsbury have done a GREAT job of recruiting QB for Tech. Shimonek would have never seen the field with the exception of mop-up duty.

Good article for a very good college QB. I still don't think that he's an NFL talent but he's proved people wrong all along the way. He may just keep on doing that. Kliff Kingsbury recognizes talent at QB when he sees it. Lincoln Riley deserves a lot of credit for Baker's sucess too.

The glaring need is QB but I believe that we will see improved play by Duffey, Bowman or someone not yet on campus, i.e. a graduate transfer. With the OL returning everyone and gaining a year in age, strength, experience, etc, and the defense bringing back 10 starters, and a healthy Hatfield, I believe that there is much to be optimistic about in 2018.

We lose a lot of production in Stockton, Coutee, Cantrell and Batson but we return a lot of players that have played. More than I realized until I went and looked.

RB - Tre King was more than serviceable and Da'Leon Ward appears to be hanging in there. I really hope that Mason Reed is able to come back. He was really starting to show some things as a blocker, runner and receiver. I would like to see us use Donta Thompson more. I think that he can create some matchup headaches for LBers.

WR - Vasher is an ESPN highlight reel already and he is figuring out the consistency thing. Reports have been good to great on Xavier Martin and JoJo Robinson. Ja'Deion High and possibly Zach Austin will give you some reliable experience and I fully expect for Kisean Carter, Erik Ezukanma and possibly Sterling Galban to contribute from the get-go.

@HHHAYAHH @Samb5 @HugMug I am @ing you three because we have had various conversations about Jett. I included the above quotes of myself for HHHAYAHH because I know you consider me a Jett hater and that simply isn't true. I was as excited as anyone when he committed. I just personally felt like that until today he never lived up to his own potential or hype.

Today he was everything that any of us could have ever hoped for him to be. The scary thing is that he left some things out there today and could be even better.

I am giving you guys credit for always believing in him even if you can't admit (HHHAYAHH

) that he hadn't always showed us and most likely his coaches what he showed us today. Simply put, he played amazingly. In my own way and I started one in a thread yesterday, I will create some Duffey stat chaser posts. Today was a lot of fun. I hope that you guys enjoy the weekend and I really hope we see more of what we saw today.
