The wife and I drove to Lubbock for the James Taylor concert last night. Helluva concert by a real legend.
This is the first stop on his summer-long tour. He said he'd been in Lubbock for about five days and how much he enjoyed his stay. Played a couple of Buddy Holly songs, "Every Day," and "Not Fade Away."
He played some songs off his new CD. One called "Angels of Fenway," and explained how much he loved baseball and what a big Red Sox fan he is. Then, he said, "Oh by the way, Texas Tech swept Sam Houston today in a doubleheader, but that's probably not a real surprise, is it?"
That second game was not over very long before he went out. Maybe we can take some James Taylor karma to the College World Series.
