An article in The Wall Street Journal today (I will link it tomorrow) reports Syracuse University has ended their use of Kiss Cam after a guy wrote a letter to the editor of a local newspaper.
Stating that the use of Kiss Cam encourages male entitlement and sexual assault, he asked that it be discontinued. Several universities have prohibited use of Kiss Cam in student sections where "relationships can be a lot less clear."
An online poll at Syracuse showed that six in ten thought Kiss Cam should continue to operate unchanged, one in seven wanted it banned, and the remainder supported continuing operation of Kiss Cam, just not in student sections.
I would add that McDonald's Cam clearly encourages obesity and Gorillas Cam unfairly portrays animals in a less than flattering light.
