70% of the money that is invested in infrastructure comes from the State and Local governments. So if your state is bankrupt and can't pay pensions you are going to be like California which is spending billions on a train to nowhere. Why is it we can't have more Toll Roads? As I understand it that is a bad thing? Why?
Trump wants to spend a trillion nationwide but overall we need as a country about 6 trillion. Infrastructure spending now will not bring more revenue as we are just "fixing" broken infrastructure.
(When we built the interstate roads we opened up commerce but today trillions are needed to fix it but that will not bring in more commerce which means revenue)
we also have to rebuild our military. Shrinking government is not a given as that would mean DC itself would have to shrink and Congress on both sides wants a BIG government to be in charge of.
So what is our revenue sources for this?
