This project is in the final design phase and the funding is nearing completion. Here is our chance to be a part of that effort. I want to thank you for your incredible support of Texas Tech Athletics. We are so grateful for the way you stepped up to fund the Gabe Rivera, Michael Crabtree, and Iffy Okafor Scholarship Endowments. Endowments leave a permanent place in the history of the University and offer a paramount way for donors to contribute to the sustained growth and continued success of Texas Tech Athletics. You should be proud of the impact these endowments make on our student-athletes and we really appreciate your support.
Because of your past efforts, we are asking Red Raider Sports to be a leader in our grassroots efforts for The Campaign for Fearless Champions. The Campaign is a part of our bold vision for the future of Texas Tech athletic teams and will enhance our athletic facilities, invest in our scholarship endowment and grow the Fearless Champions Leadership Academy.
Red Raider Sports has already made an indelible impact on the Campaign and Texas Tech Athletics with the establishment and fundraising efforts of several scholarship endowments. While the Campaign will continue to invest in our scholarship endowment, it also includes 25 facility projects.
The top facility priority is the Sports Performance Center, a $45 million facility to replace the existing air-supported structure south of Jones AT&T Stadium. TTU Athletics is finalizing all of the details for the facility and we hope to unveil new architectural renderings in November. It will house a 200-meter indoor track with seating for over 2,000 fans, as well as an indoor football practice facility. The building will also include strength and conditioning space, sports medicine facilities and a nutrition center. The Sports Performance Center is extremely important to Texas Tech Athletics and each gift brings us closer to the day we can welcome our student-athletes, recruits, and fans to the facility.
With more than $42 million raised toward our goal we are ready to kick-off our grassroots efforts and would love for you to be involved. Today, I am challenging the members of the RRS community to set a fundraising goal of $100,000 towards The Campaign for Fearless Champions. We are so close and you can truly make a difference. You have already proven that as a community you are leaders in grassroots efforts and we are excited for you to be involved in the Campaign!
