I have lost any interest in the protests in Minnesota. The opportunists, TV talking heads, community activitists, race baiters, and the criminal looters have completely turned me off. They just ruin any opportunity to progress.
My thoughts on being a cop:
It's damn hard. I would be terrified to police many black communities. I know this because to this very day I am terrified of being in "the hood." The facts are more crimes are committed there and it's dangerous. And if the residents of those communities are terrified, wouldn't it stand to reason cops would be scared and on edge also?
I'm not addressing this latest issue. There's no excuse for what happened there. I'm talking about numerous other times when cops shoot people that may not have necessarily needed to be shot But we're asking cops to make split second decisions while scared for their own safety. That's not easy to do, and that's not about race.
If the crime and violence in a community decreases cops will probably be less on edge. Maybe citizens of the over policed communities should take the first step and stop committing crimes.
