Wells did his damndest to win football games and be a good head coach. I recognize his effort and I thank him for giving his all to the University I love and cherish, but bless his heart, he wasn’t (isn’t) up for the job.
But Kirby and Shovaneck be damned for allowing this to continue and allowing Wells to further damage his reputation and bury our football program further beneath the pile of shit it’s already under. Although nothing is unforgivable, this would border on consideration.
This situation has exposed a dangerous ineptitude that runs deep into the foundation of Texas Tech University. How can such educated and respected individuals make such a poor, chickenshit decision?
Lubbock and Red Raiders deserve so much more than what it’s been served the past decade. It’s time for bold, tough, gritty leadership. No more politically correct, diplomatic yes men and women. We need take charge, tough,West Texas minded leaders to shake some things up.
