It amazes me that Kirby continues to get a pass from criticism for Kliff's hire and ridiculous extension.
In the big four sports of football, men's basketball, baseball, and women's basketball, he has made two horrible hires and rewarded both of them with unwarranted extensions. I think Beard is going to workout, but in his first year we didn't make the post season after going to the NCAA tourney the year before. Tadlock is the only sure fire good hire he has made.
I almost look at his being in the selection committee as a slap in the face. Folks know we are never going to contend so he is a good choice to head the committee.
I guess since he plays golf at Lubbock country club and is a nice guy we I'll keep him around and talk about what a fine AD he is. I just don't get how he escapes criticism.
