I am having a house built starting in a couple of weeks. My builder's electrician tells me that he will run whatever wires I need but he is not a A\V or internet guy. I would like to have the ability to centralize my receivers for TV, sound, Internet and security camera cpu whether that be in a closet or below my TV in an entertainment center. I am definitely going to have large conduit ran behind my main TV's (LR, master, porch) and to a central closet. Will also wire house and porch for speakers, but may not install speakers until later for budget concerns.
My question is do any of you have any recommendations regarding wiring type for this (cat-6, HDMI, coax, etc.)? Any experience with keeping receivers in closets and dealing with the overheating issue? Any other tips would be useful.
Thanks in advance!
