To make a change would require a LOT of finagling, given that Kliff would have to be (1) bought out and (2) you actually have to hire a replacement.
I'm concerned that Kirby's present job with the committee could push him to NOT want to deal with all that would have to be done to make a change.
Of course, he replaced Tubby Smith in a matter of a couple of days so maybe if any AD in America could pull this off it would be him.
