Bumping this thread. Was hoping this might be a better time to post this versus December. My wife and I are now aggressively looking and any thoughts, ideas, assistance would be very much appreciated. Given I am in NYC it has been hard to connect with decent recruiters and companies in general as I feel my resume might be going into a black hole. Original post below. Would be happy to connect with anyone and I am very much open to looking within different areas in finance. Thanks as always guys.
Good Morning Gentleman,
Now that the coaching hire is behind us I thought it may be a better time to post this. I moved up to NYC about 6 years ago for career reasons...and because I was young and crazy. Have loved every minute of it and it has been a fantastic learning experience, professionally and personally. However, I got married in September and we have decided it is time to come home and settle back down (and I cant freaking wait to get back!).
Anyways, I am now on the job hunt - looking in the Dallas area. I am in the finance industry. I have worked in a variety of roles, but most of my experience is in leveraged and structured finance. Product specific would be Leveraged Loans. I currently work for The Carlyle Group. While they are well known for their private equity expertise, I work on the private credit side. We work alongside private equity sponsors to provide debt financing in LBO, M&A transactions, etc. Holding the loans in a variety of vehicles (public and private BDC's, CLO's and SMA's). Typically invest in the middle market space (companies with ~$10mm-$50mm of EBITDA). I am more focused on the portfolio/liability management and reporting side of things versus underwriting the companies, but do help out with some of the underwriting when needed.
I wont go into a ton more detail and kill peoples brain cells. Just wanted to throw this out there and see if anyone could be of assistance or provide guidance. I am going the typical route as well (submitting my resume on career websites and reaching out to recruiters), but as we are a brotherhood here I thought this would be a great place to reach out as well. Would LOVE to work with some fellow Red Raiders. If anyone is open to chat please let me know. My email is dallasw66@gmail.com if you prefer following up through email.
Thanks in advance, and if nothing else I look forward to being at one of the next @GCRRFan lunches to meet some of you yahoos in person. Guns Up boys!
