The wife and I are flying to Omaha for the CWS tomorrow. This will be our third time, but first time without Texas Tech as a participant. I’m trying to pick a team to “adopt” for a week and cheer on but having trouble.
1. Texas A&M…LOL, I’ll never root for aggy.
2. Texas…LOL, F**K UT!
3. Oklahoma…hmmm, not really high on them since they absolutely owned Tech this season.
4. Notre Dame…ND is one of those schools you love to hate. They beat Tech (which I hate), but they also beat Tennessee (which I love).
5. Stanford…normally they would be easy to pull for but they destroyed Tech last year in the Lubbock Super Regional. I was miserably hot and disappointed, but that was so last year.
6. Arkansas…Don’t typically pull for SEC teams. Arkansas and Tech have had some recent history in Omaha. Don’t hate them, but don’t like them. I could see myself pulling for Arky.
7. Auburn…Don’t typically pull for SEC teams. They beat Tech earlier this year. That’s about all I got. I could see myself pulling for AUB.
8. Ole Miss…Don’t typically pull for SEC teams. They were a lot of people’s preseason #1 and looked like they may not even qualify for the NCAA tournament at one point and now could win it all. Probably the team I’d settle on.
