All,
I'm certainly no expert on what exactly happened, but I saw that Harrison Benjamin died of complications with a stroke. He was 29.
I threw shot put and discus against him in high school, but we didn't exactly know each other all that well. I was glad to see he was going to throw at Tech. Either way, he was one of the best shot putters in the Big 12 the entire time I was in school (2004-2008) and I know folks associated with the Tech tract program are at a loss for words right now.
Anyways, I always kept up with how he was doing and by all accounts he was a hell of a competitor and a good man. Sad to see this happen to such a young guy. Please send prayers to his wife and family
