I am thankful!

I woke up this morning with my wife and kids in a hotel in Canyon, TX.

We drove my mom and dad from Weatherford to see my little brother and his family. They live in Canyon and work in and around Amarillo.

In 2020 both my dad and my brother, for totally different reasons, were put on dialysis and don't venture far from home because of it. My brother hopes to get a kidney transplant in January and my dad is working very hard to get himself to a place where he can travel again.

This is the first time that the 10 of us have all been together in a year and a half. My mom wept tears of joy yesterday.

This morning my sons and I ate breakfast and have been discussing Tech basketball. We have been excitedly planning our trip to Phoenix next month to watch Tech play Gonzaga and we have been remembering details of our trips and the players that we got to see in 2020 vs Kentucky, in 2019 in Las Vegas when we watched Tech vs Iowa and Creighton (we also enjoyed San Diego State), and in 2018 when we went to Kansas City to watch Tech play USC and Nebraska. We also made the road win at Kansas in 2018.

All were either Christmas presents or centered around Holiday trips.

We've made a lot of great memories with family and like most of you, Texas Tech has been a part of many of those memories.

We've been forced by my dad and brother's health to change a lot of our eating habits and that's not necessarily a bad thing because we've been reminded in the last two years to be thankful for the most important things-- each other.

I have said before that RRS is a great cyber pub to me. We have the best Rivals reporters and writers. We have the best University, alumni, and fans. And with RRS we have the best community to share with.

Like a family, we have some family members that make us proud, some make us laugh, and some we don't tell others that we are related to, but I am truly thankful for you guys!

I pray that you are all blessed wherever you go! Bear our banners far and wide! Happy Holidays and safe travels home!

Remember to be thankful!👆
