Been going back through my iPod of favorites and rediscovered the greatness of an old classic. The song is The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again". Absolute greatness. Go aback and listen again if you haven't in a few years. Everything from Pete Townsend's scorching lead, to John Entwhistle's soaring bass lines, to the absolute greatness of my favorite drummer Keith Moon, to Roger Daltrey at his best as a front man makes this perhaps the best all around rock song of all time when you consider all parts of the band smoking hot.
Others I considered were The Stones Gimme shelter or Monkey Man, Led Zeppelin Whole Lotta Lovin' or Communication Breakdown, Hendrix's Light My Fire or All Along the Watch Towers.
But do yourself a favor, and go listen toWon't Get Fooled Again...catch all the parts individually and see how they blend into one sweeping rock anthem. Magic
Correction : The Hendrix song should have been (Let me stand next to your) Fire.
