Part one of vacation update starts on page two of the thread.
Added part two: MUNICH to page 2.
Gonna kill two weeks waiting for football to start by heading to Germany and Austria on Monday.
Staying or seeing the following areas in Germany/Bavaria:
Bamberg
Rothenberg ob der Tauber
Munich
Garmisch-Partenkirchen
Stuttgart/Heidelberg
Austria:
Salzburg
Hallstatt
Pretty excited. I'm expecting us to have a great time. I'm also expecting to add a few of the pounds I've lost in the summer challenge back on... because I love me some German beer. We will be doing a lot of hiking and walking. I'm not into the sit around and relax type vacations.
Practiced a bit of German here and there on Babbel. Will also have a phrase book, though I know many people over there have a good understanding of English. Google translate can also be used as needed.
Bayern Munich will actually be in the US while we are there, but I was able to get tickets to FC Red Bull Salzburg's first game of the season.
Anyway, bring on the bier, schnitzel and sausages.
