1. One down on the way to bowl eligibility. I thought we would get 7 and now I may change that to 8. Our defense won the turnovers, won every single quarter, tackled well and kept their heads in it against a team that averaged 520 yards last year.
2. This coaching staff has had a bit of an understated confidence in the defensive improvement. It showed today. The EWU QB is very good. It's fortunate they dropped so many balls early.
3. Thomas is huge. Hard to believe he is this big AFTER losing weight. Run up the middle has improved. Ends still need work.
4. Brooks is a man. Best player on defense as we suspected. He grades out real high.
5. I was very concerned about running back before seeing Nisby and King. We will run better than I thought. Nisby was a welcome sight today.
6. I like Gibbs.
7. O line run blocking has improved. They need work on pass protection. Hope they grow into it before conference play.
8. Stockton was better than I thought he would be. I still think Felton is a better back.
9. Secondary is highly improved. I'm still concerned about Polite Bray in conference. He just can't move his hips and recover when he gets beat.
10. Nic doesn't panic. Great game today. Probably about as high a QBR as you can have for 3/4 of a game.
