update 1:58 p.m. Friday
Also, if you're driving in from the west...the severe risk isn't as high, but there will be thunderstorms. Right now a few of these are developing along U.S. 281, including a severe storm NW of Wichita Falls. And there is a severe storm right now over eastern Fort Worth, moving to the NE.

update 1:21 p.m. Friday
A tornado watch is up for Fort Worth and Dallas and much of the region. Western extent of the watch is roughly Tulsa to Bowie to Mineral Wells to Killeen.

Mid-day severe outlook has a level 4 out of 5 risk from just east of Dallas to SW Arkansas, with greatest tornado risk there. But still a 3 out of 5 risk across all of N TX.

posted Thursday afternoon
As mentioned in another thread, timing would likely change from what it looked like last weekend. Then it looked like storms Saturday. Now that's moved up to Friday.

In fact, there is a significant risk of severe weather Friday across North Texas. On the severe outlook it's a level 3 out of 5. It doesn't mean severe weather will for sure happen in Fort Worth Friday. But if you're there, or planning to travel, be aware of the risk. Greater risk right now runs from about Fort Worth down to Austin and up to SW Oklahoma, then locations east into Arkansas and Louisiana. So any part of that highlighted region there is the potential for some severe weather, including hail, damaging wind...possibly a tornado.

Storm chance should be over by about sunset Friday in Fort Worth, with storms moving farther east.

As for Saturday, looks like great weather. Cool and crisp in the morning, low in the upper 40s. Kickoff near 60, high in the afternoon around 70. Not much wind.

Guns Up!
