OK, time for some to eat crow here! Step up and get in line))
We blasted an Iowa State team that many predicted we would be lucky to beat. That our receiver group was too young, too mistake prone or just not good enough to "hang" with Iowa State. Well, here are some numbers for you...11 different players caught 39 passes for 515 yards, 6 TD's and at a 13.2 YPC clip. Our "crappy" OL helped punch the RB's ticket 31 times for 261 yards at a 8.4 YPC clip. We generated 3 TO's while giving up ZERO! The defense held ISU to 10 second half points and 205 yards. Major improvements over the 1st half (can you say making adjustments??). The most important thing is, on both penalties and TO's, we got things going BACK in the right direction. Those two categories are the clear benchmarks for what will define this seasons success (or failure). You guys out there wanting to constantly hammer this staff for not making improvements, well, THERE are your key improvements and that is why this team cruised to a relatively easy win. A win mind you, that this team achieved with many key injuries, in a trap game letdown after the last three weeks. They came out and they made a statement! If you naysayers and doomers can't see that, then neither I or anyone else here can help you. GUNS UP!!
