First rankings of the season were unveiled last night. For those interested, thoughts?
1-- Tennessee
2-- Ohio State
3-- Georgia
4-- Clemson
5-- Michigan
6-- Alabama
7-- TCU
8-- Oregon
9-- USC
10-- LSU
11-- Ole Miss
12-- UCLA
13-- Kansas State
14-- Utah
15-- Penn State
16-- Illinois
Several thoughts I had:
1) Over the next four weeks there are multiple head-to-head matchups between teams in the top 16 of the initial rankings. So these rankings will really have an opportunity to sort themselves out between now and the conference championship week.
3) ACC is the only conference without multiple teams in the top 16.
4) Lots of bold opinions of TCU being behind Alabama. I'm not mad about it though.
5) Really thought Michigan would have been 4 and Clemson 5... But it will sort itself out in several weeks.
6) Thought the committee got it right on Tennessee/Georgia to this point in the season even though I expected it to be reversed. Again, it doesn't matter since it will be decided on the field this weekend.
