Background:
I am a contract engineer. I have done many contracts and have gone on job searches before. I never seem to be prepared for it when it happens.
I have a BS/MS in Industrial Engineering. My current role is a Manufacturing Engineer for a large semiconductor company.
I graduated 8 years ago. I have done a mix of full time, and lately, contract jobs. I want a regular full time position as opposed to contract engineering.
My current company has a policy of 18 months on and a forced 3 month break. I know I will not be hired full time at the end of my contract, but have a chance at another contract job after 3 months break is up. I do not want to wait it out.
My current contract ends in 3 months.
I live in Austin, TX.
Over the next 3 months, what is the best way for me to get a full time position? What should my game plan be? I always have used monster/indeed/careerbuilder etc, but know I must be missing other ways of landing one. I rather have something lined up so I am not left with no income.
My resume is up to date. And it is already posted online in multiple places.
