Just got home from a long day of travel and spent most of the time thinking about the game/atmosphere/town while trying to hide my sh!t eating grin...
1. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the equivalent of Nebraska fans I would rate Arky a 7. Little talk went on Friday night but not too bad. No one was overly friendly and offer us free beer/food (like Nebraska) but no one threw batteries (like us).
2. Dickson St was a very well thought out area. Loved having access to all bars while walking down one street. However I'm not a fan of smoking in bars. The food truck courtyard was cool and the views at 21st Amendment were Chimys-esque.
3. Many many thanks to TTUweymouth and RaiderinArk for having a tailgate. We enjoyed meeting fellow RRS members and learning the fun and challenging game of Beer Dice.
4. Campus was ok. Very hilly with trees and no common theme. Toured their FTF and it was very nice. I'll take our campus any day and twice on Saturday
5. Those oversized T shirts the girls wear are
6. Proud of the way our school travels. The bars were packed with Raider Power chants. Enjoyed WCG on Friday night. He put on a great show with plenty of LBK shout outs.
7. Much has been said about our game day experience. I haven't been to a home game in 2 years so I read all the threads the last couple weeks. I was very impressed with the presentation. No annoying ads I can remember. Some ribbon boards had ads and some had game info. Their music selection was on key and played to the crowd. (No music from the band though. Only at pregame and halftime). They also have the people who are honored on the field "call the hogs" after being recognized. Watching Jerry Jones call the hogs was pretty cool.
Feel free to agree, disagree, or not read too long.
