So it hasn't been formally said by the commissioner or any presidents but the rumor is UT and OU will allow the schools in as long as the GOR isn't extended so you essentially have an expiration date. The LHN goes through about 2030 I believe, could be a little off on that, so you still have the LHN and no conference will take it. I'm guessing by that point maybe UT is willing to cut it unless they really do try to go independent.

So so much will happen between now and then but which conference gets which teams? UT isn't going SEC but probably ACC, B1G, and PAC are all possibilities.

So all schools except for the PAC need two schools to get to 16 depending on how you count Notre Dame. I don't see the SEC getting an ACC team with the GOR so I really think they come after Big 12 for two more and OU/OSU seem like the only two. I know OU thinks they have academics but they don't and I bet they go there, too much money, stability, and geography. No existing school will boycott given its a new state.

UT could go B1G but that geography really sucks. I think B1G gets KU and ISU may get super lucky because they are AAU and have hoops, maybe UCONN here but they could also go ACC.

At this point UT has to go west and drop network, hopefully the picture is more rosy there than it is now. PAC could stop at two but if they want 16 you could see TCU, UH, etc but I definitely think we get the nod.

Doubt we get SEC offer, I know we won't get B1G offer, so when it all blows up I feel good about the PAC but UH could end up there as well especially if they play well over the interim. UT still plays OU as a noncon and it could all work. I just don't see who SEC takes if they can't get an ACC now with new GOR and the OK schools would jump when the time comes I believe as I don't think UT would ever give in to SEC.

As much as I don't want UH in, I still think Tech will be ok long-term, we could get left out but some things would really have to break against us. We just need to not suck and make a couple good runs over the next 8 years.

Thoughts?
