Since the ASU game, I've been wondering something:
"Why is Donta Thompson not being used as a middle of the field passing threat?" He did a fantastic job blocking on Cantrell's end around.
But part of me thinks that's really an extension of a bigger question, which is why Tech's WR rotation is so small. I've become accustomed to an 8 receiver rotation. In our two games, it's pretty much just been the primary 4 (first strings) who I see catching balls. Is the rotation small because the drop off between 1st and 2nd string is huge? Is it because the 1st string poses matchup challenges against other defenses best? Is the 2nd string not ready to contribute?
In particular, with Donta being a mini jace, I wonder why he's not being used to challenge LB's in the middle of the field. Are his hands not good enough, or is there some other issue?
