It’s been a news heavy cycle and I feel like there have been a lot of positives that have been coming our way.
Beating UH the way we did when it was really needed has galvanized the fan base early. Important win and there is some excitement that should pack the Jones tonight.
Basketball recruiting looks like it is on track to be very good. Our current roster is stacked and I really think we will be able to carry this momentum forward under Adams.
If that 25 year deal with UT happens I think that is a home run by our admin. Keeps a huge rivalry, big payday, and eyeballs on Texas Tech.
Partnership was Kansas City and Mahomes being at the UH game was very important. I don’t really think you can understate the asset to Tech that is Patrick Mahomes II.
we have shored up the Big 12 if that is the conference we end up being in. It looks like we are going to get a nice pay day with keeping the schools here longer than they want. Big 12 isn’t the original league that was awesome but it’s not a dumpster fire either.
I really like our strategy for a move in a few years. We are sitting just right on the fence which will allows us to be nimble to go to the PAC or maybe pick some schools off depending on what happens. I’m actually impressed with what our leadership has done and we seem to be a very visible school in this conference right now.
We will see what happens with Wells but one thing we have all said is that he is building a roster. Getting that QB along with Cumbie is going to pay some serious dividends. I’ll be shocked if we don’t go bowling but honestly hoping for a lot more than that.
Hoping to see some positive news around the PUF or just additional funding from the state for our political move with UH.
I’ve still got faith that @codycc64 is going to end up being our T Boone and take the football program to the next level.
Looking at how the PAC schools have done and viewership numbers it makes me pretty confident that Tech is going to land in a good spot. We are so much better than a lot Of current power 5 schools.
I’m sure there are other facets as well but in general if we have a good sports year, Tech should reinvigorate our brand excitement and position ourselves well to take advantage of the current landscape.
If you tell me in 3 years we are part of the PAC with OSU, UH, and KSU, making $50MM a year, and still playing UT I think that would be an amazing outcome and very likely in the realm of possibility.
