So I never go back and watch games again, but when you have your best non-Kansas Big 12 win since I last lived in Lubbock, it is worth it.
First, special teams. They've been dogged on a lot this year, they showed up in spades Saturday. Made FGs. Best punt of the year. Coverage was great. I don't know if something was changed during the bye or if it all came together, but more of that please.
Second, we had some snaps that Thompson and Brooks were both on the field at the same time. I'm surprised we haven't done that more this year but I was glad to see it.
Third, turnover margin...I think we were -6 on the year, now we are -2. Hopefully that was more a sign of things clicking in the new defense than just level of competition. But either way, if we can be +2 every week I think we have a great shot to win out. But that's tough to do 5 weeks in a row.
Fourth, 5 games left and this has been the most fun season since Patrick Mahomes was running QB for us. That's a really good feeling, because so often watching Tech football has seemed like a chore the past 5 years.
Finally, Donnell looked legit in his snaps. I look forward to seeing more of that guy.
