Costa Rica vacation stuff

We will be flying in and out of San Jose in early June.

Me, wifey and high school daughter.

Looking at some time at a beach resort... probably on the north west side..Guanacaste area maybe? Mostly middle part of the country and west side...

So give me ideas on resorts to stay for a bit... we are going to do some beach time and some mountiain/rainforesty time...... there for 9 to 10 days...

All inclusive or not...... VRBO style or not....

Places to eat and drink beers.... I like both of those things...

Snorkeling trips? Hikes?

Places/areas to avoid?
